Ahmednagar (Maharashtra): The newly elected Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, will have a total of 07 Muslims in the house of 68. In 2013 too 07 Muslims had won the Ahmednagar municipal elections.

According to the final result declared by the poll officers after counting of votes on Monday, 04 Muslims - Samad Khan of NCP, Rizwana Shaikh of Congress, Asif Sultan of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Meenaz Khan (Independent) have won from Prabhag 03.

Other two Mulim candidates who have won the Ahmednagar local body elections are Praveen Qureshi and Shaikh Nazeer Ahmed - both from the NCP. They won the 2018 polls from Prabhag 11.

One of the 04 BSP candidate who have won the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation 2018 elections is Mudassar Shaikh. He has won the polls from Prabhag 10.

A total of 48 Muslims belonging to various parties, including the BJP and Shiv Sena, contested the 2018 Ahmednagar Mahangar Palika elections.

10:15 pm - Ahmednagar Corporation 2018 Election Final Results: Cong+NCP: 23, BJP: 14, Shiv Sena:24, BSP:04

The Shiv Sena has emerged as the single largest party though short of the halfway mark in Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC) 2018 elections results of which were declared on Monday.

According to the final result announced by the poll officers, Shiv Sena won 24 seats in the house of 68. Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are second with 23 seats - NCP 18 seats and Congress 05 seats.

The BJP which has taken early lead ended winning just 14 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 04 seats, Samajwadi Party (SP) won 01 and Independents 02.

12:00 pm - Cong+NCP: 25, BJP: 18, Shiv Sena:17

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) which had taken early lead in Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, is now lagging behind Congress-NCP alliance.

According to trends available at 12:00 pm, the BJP is leading on 18 seats. Congress-NCP alliance is ahead on 25 seats whereas Shiv Sena candidates are leading on 17 seats. Others are ahead on 08 seats.

These are just trends. Final results are expected by today afternoon.

11:25 am - BJP: 25, Cong+NCP: 13, Shiv Sena:13

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) takes early lead in Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, elections where counting of votes to elect a new body is underway.

According to trends available at 11:25 am, the BJP is leading on 25 seats. Congress-NCP alliance is ahead on 13 seats whereas Shiv Sena candidates are leading on 13 seats.

10:00 am - Counting of votes starts

Counting of votes in Ahmednagar where polling to elect new body of the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, started at 10:00 am today i.e. Monday December 10, 2018.

Poll officers said counting of votes in Ahmednagar started with counting of Postal Ballots. This will follow counting of votes registered in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Though final results are expected by today afternoon, trends and leads is expected by 10:30 am today when first 2-3 rounds of counting will be completed.

07:30 am - Counting of votes to begin at 10 am

Counting of votes in Ahmednagar where polling to elect new body of the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, was held on Sunday will start today i.e. Monday December 10, 2018 at 10:00 am, State Election Commission officials said.

Poll officers said counting of votes will start in Ahmednagar to count votes in 17 prabhags comprising of 68 members. The process will start with counting of Postal Ballots, if any. After this, votes registered in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be counted.

Voting for the Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika Chunav 2018 was held on Sunday December 09, 2018. According to the election commission officials, Ahmednagar recored around 67% voting in the 2018 December Civic Elections. Poll percentage in 2013 Dhule Local Body election was 73%.

A total of 339 candidates of different parties and independents are in fray for the 68 seats of Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC). Of them 48 candidates are Muslims who are contesting the election on BJP, Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena MNS and SP tickets and also as Independents.

Besides 106 Independents, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has fielded a maximum of 67 candidates for the 2018 Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls.

The Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) who have formed alliance to contest the Ahmednagar local body eletcion have together fielded 64 candidates - 44 of NCP and 20 of Congress.

The Shiv Sena has fielded 60 candidates, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has fielded 14, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has given party tickets to 09 candidates, Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates are contesting on 04 seats, Rashtriya Samaj Paksh is contesting on 04 seats and CPI has fielded candidates in 03 wards.

Contesting the local body election in Ahmednagar for the first time, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given party tickets to 08 candidates.

The Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), has a population of 3,46,755 and total number of voters are 2,56,719. Polling for the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Ahmednagar Mahanagar Palika, 2018 election will be held on Sunday December 09, 2018. The counting of votes will take place on December 10. The result of the election will also be declared on the same day.

In 2013, Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation (AMC) election was held on Decemver 15, 2013 for 34 wards to elect a total of 68 councillors – two each from a ward.

As per the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation 2013 results, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had won 16 seats in the 68-member house. Shiv-Sena had also won 16 seats in the 2013 election wheras its alliance partner BJP had won 10 seats.

The Congress party on the other hand had won 11 seats. The independents too had won on 11 seats in the 2013 Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation polls. A total of seven Muslims had also won the 2013 local body elections in Ahmednagar.
