Mumbai: Three tuition classes based in Ulhasnagar near Kalyan are on police radar after complaints lodged with the local police said Maharashtra board SSC 2018 History paper was leaked and circulated on social media about an hour before the exam on Monday.
Sacred Heart School Kalyan stafr received a tip-off at around 09:35 am Monday that some students appearing for this year’s SSC Class 10 exams are in the possession of History question paper. Following the tip-off, the school authorities checked the smartphones of the students and found the copy of the question paper in the phones of at least 11 students.
“We immediately alerted the board officials who asked us to wait till the exam starts and then check if the paper was the same. After cross-checking it was established that the image found in the smartphones of the students and the board question paper was same”, said Albin Anthony, administrator at the school.
“We got a call from the school authorities regarding the paper leak at around 10 am. We asked the school to file an FIR at the local police station. Further action in the matter will be taken after the incident is probed by the police”, Subhash Borse, in-charge secretary of the board’s Mumbai division, said.
Three coaching classes are on police radar and further investigation in the case is on.
“Three private tuition classes - Masoom classes, Vinita’s classes and Twinkle classes alleged to have promised students that they would get the question papers before the exam. Later, students confessed the same and we have therefore lodged a complaint with the Kalyan Police” said Albin Anthony.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Patil, SP, Thane rural police, said, “An FIR has been registered against unknown people at the Titwala police station.”
The Maharashtra SSC Class 10 or Class X 2018 exam began on March 01 and will continue till March 22, 2018. The exam started with first language paper. The last paper to be held on March 22, 2018 will be Information Communication Technology.
The Highre Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) during the month of February and March through its nine Divisional Boards, which are primarily located at Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur, Nagpu, Amravati and Ratnagiri.
