Mumbai: As more and more people are adapting to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance efficiency, improve quality and save time, efforts are also on to use the two fastest growing technologies in education sector and provide opportunities for working professionals to upgrade their skills.
Experts worldwide including India are busy developing platforms and apps not only to make “anywhere learning” more effective but also to utilize the services and experience of experts for larger audience irrespective of where they are physically located.
At the same time, to a large section of population in India Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) are still something new. Ummid.com Aditya Malik, CEO, Talentedge, India’s one of the leading Ed-Tech firm which offers ‘live and interactive’ anywhere learning in digital format, and is only Indian company to leverage AI in their online learning platform, to explain the basic concept of the emerging technologies and how they can be used for borderless and effective learning experience.
“Making machines and gadgets capable to perform intelligently in human manner, is what digital world is seeking to grow further in the field of technology. Researchers are doing experiments by virtual training of machines for cost reduction and time consumption in real world. The presence of mind in gadgets and machine is what we call as Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, Aditya said while talking to ummid.com.
“Our world revolves around this Artificial Intelligence, its presence in our day to day lives help us in all possible manners without we even noticing it. Consider digital assistance like SIRI and Alexa, they are the easiest way to get things done. They are always with us in phones and guide us in confusion like what type of music we would like to listen to, what type of clothes we would like to order, restaurant ratings and locations etc. In respect to this, soon we will have self-driving cars to replace drivers and Uber is already working on it”, he added.
Asserting that there is no sector untouched by AI and Education sector is slowly growing in this technology to create world class products for learners, Aditya said, “In real time, AI is holding a grip on education sector and taking it forward to change learner’s life through online learning. Live and interactive online courses are somehow the demand of today's time. Having being able to up skill themselves while still being employed is what professionals are looking for. The ease of learning anywhere anytime with minimum effort attracts users to the arena of online learning.”
According to a recent survey, the expected growth in education sector globally is worth $190 billion by 2025. In India itself it has recorded $70 million in 2017 and expected to grow $2 billion by 2021. In the latest budget on education, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has also put an effort to place people’s eye on digitization of education system.
"Unlike the previous ways of learning, digitization can replace the old school method of studies through introducing AI and VR, and making learning both engaging and interactive. AI goes a long way from enhancing teacher’s abilities and helps them work with students on the highest value skills like critical thinking, problem solving and creativity", Aditya said.
"Teachers manage to get real time students’ assessments; can determine students’ learning outcomes and thus can change their teaching pattern or reinvent the old age curriculum in order to customize learning for one and for all. AI has been able to aid and innovate teaching methods to a great capacity and will surely help in the times to come”, the Talentedge CEO observed.
Over the last 4 years, Talentedge has partnered with universities like XLRI, IIM, SP Jain to provide certificate courses to professionals. And because of their immersive learning platform, they are able to enjoy a 95% completion rate of their programs as compared to other ed-tech firms offering MOocs which are basically recorded videos with no interactions.
The primary aim of Talentedge is to change the way people learn. Its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) build app SLIQ.20 creates face-to-face learning environment virtually. Talentedge is currently developing the next version of SLIQ where it will work on Internet of Things (IoT) and voice enabled Talentedge Avatar to solve a student’s query in real time.
