Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi will host the Health Care Track, the Technology and Innovation Pioneers’ (TIP) healthcare award and conference on May 9. During event “Challenge Awards” will also be announced.
The first of its kind program in the Middle East will be held with an initiative from both the Ministry of Economy and the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi under the leadership from the Department of Health Abu Dhabi.
Technology and Innovation Pioneers (TIP) conference will also be attended by senior local, regional and global experts and executives in health care along with inventors and innovators from the ecosystem who will discuss key topics related to the advancement of the healthcare system in the UAE and at the global level.
The event will establish a global platform that contributes to the position of UAE as a global center for innovation and medical and scientific research including artificial intelligence and three-dimensional printing.
The event will start by the AED 3 million ($820,000) awards distribution ceremony. A total of 1,182 applicants from across the globe sent entries for the award.
Various categories included patent protection, proof of concept, and tech start-ups covering prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases and chronic conditions such as asthma, tobacco control and smoking, oral and dental health, occupational and environmental health, diabetes, maternal and infant health, school health, cancer control and other related fields.
The winners were selected by a specialized scientific and management committee under highly transparent and impartial criteria, followed by a conference discussing outlooks for the Centennial Plan 2071 for the UAE.
