New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2018 on Sunday June 03, 2018 at different centres across India, the Commission said in a statement.
Stating that more than 50% candidates have downloaded their e-Admit Cards from the Commission’s website it asked those who have not yet downloaded their e-Admit Card, to do so urgently to avoid last minute rush.
"The candidates should note that entry into the Examination Venue shall be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the examination i.e. 09:20 am for the Forenoon Session, and at 02:20 pm for the Afternoon Session", the UPSC said.
"No candidate shall be allowed the entry into the Examination Venue after closure of the entry", the UPSC added.
"The candidates should also note that they shall not be allowed to appear at any other Examination Venue except the Examination Venue mentioned in the e-Admit Card", the UPSC said.
The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview -- to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
Thousands of candidates take the test every year at various centres across the country. The UPSC Prelim Exam 2018 will be held under the shadow of the strong protest by the Civil Society against Modi government's proposal to make changes in cadre allocation.
