Sainik School Entrance Examination 2019-20 Session: The Sainik School Society has started through its website sainikschooladmission.in from today i.e. Monday October 08, 2018 distributing the Prospectus and Application form for Sainik School Entrance Examination 2019-20 Session.
Candidates should note that the last date of obtaining Application Form and Prospectus is November 26, 2018. The last date to submit Sainik School Application Form is Saturday December 01, 2018.
According to the Sainik School Admission 2019-20 schedule announced earlier, the 2019 Sainik School Entrance Exam [also known as All India Sainik School Entrance Exam 2019 (AISSEE)] will be held on Sunday January 06, 2019.
"AISSEE 2019-20 registration will be done ONLINE. No offline registration for any school will be done this year", the Sainik School Society said.
The Sainik School Entrance Examination 2019 Result and Merit List will be published on Monday February 04, 2019. Medical Exam of the candidates will be tentatively held between February 11 to February 28, 2019.
"The Sainik School Society will publish the Final Merit List and Waiting List on Monday March 11, 2019", Board of Governors, Sainik School Society, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi said.
Age Limit and Eligibility
The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam 2019 (AISSEE) is the National-level entrance exam for admission to Class 6th and Class 9th in Sainik Schools across the Country.
"The Entrance Examination will be held for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are between the age of 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years respectively on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the Entrance Examination", the Sainik School Society said.
"For admission to Class IX, the boys should be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX", it added.
Exam Pattern
The entrance exam of Class 6 will carry maximum 300 marks, while Class 9 entrance exam will be of 400 marks. Medium of Examination for Class VI examinations will be English, Hindi. The question papers for Class VI will continue to be set in English and all the recognized official languages. But question papers for Class IX will be set in English only and students are required to answer in English.
Qualifying Marks
The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates as well as children of Defence Services Personnel and ex-servicemen will be 25% in each subject with 40% in aggregate.
In case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates, minimum qualifying standards are not required and they will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within these categories. In case, a SC/ST candidate comes in the General Merit on his own, he would be admitted against general seat and will not be adjusted against the reserved share of SC/ST seats.
AISSEE 2019 Merit List
"The Merit List for admission to the Sainik School would be compiled on the basis of marks obtain by the candidate", the Sainik School Society said.
In case there is a tie with regard to overall marks, the marks for mathematics would be considered. In case there is a tie here also the marks for English for Class IX and Intelligence Test for class VI will be considered and thereafter the marks for General Science for class IX and Language for class VI. In case there is a tie there also the boy younger in age will be selected.
"Marks obtained in the written test will determine his position in the Final Merit List", the society said.
The AISSEE 2018 was held on January 7, 2018 for admission in 26 Sainik Schools at Amaravathinagar, Ambikapur, Balachadi, Bhubaneswar, Bijapur, Chhingchhip, Chittorgarh, Ghorakhal, Goalpara, Gopalganj, Imphal, Kalikiri (AP), Kapurthala, Kazakoottam, Kogaru, Korukonda, Kunjpura, Nagrota, Nalanda, Punglwa, Purulia, Rewa, Rewari, Satara, Sujanpur Tira, and Tilaiya.
