Ahmedabad: Shankersinh Vaghela, former Gujarat Chief Minister and senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Shankersinh Vaghela Wednesday while claiming that the vehicle used in Pulwama terrorist attack had registration initial of Gujarat said the incident was a conspiracy by the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
“The vehicle with RDX which was used in Pulwama attack was bearing the registration initial of Gujarat — GJ. Godhra was a conspiracy,” news agency ANI quoted Vaghela as saying.
More than 40 CRPF troopers were killed in Pulwama district when a vehicle carrying RDX rammed into the bus carrying the security personnel on February 14, 2019. The incident took place months before 2019 Lok Sabha elections and at the time anger against the BJP led government in New Delhi was at its peak.
"Terrorism is being used by the BJP government to win election", Vaghela, who was also with the BJP earlier, said while talking to reporters Wednesday.
Vaghlea also questioned the deaths in Balakot saying no one was killed in the air strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF).
“No one was killed in Balakot air strike. Even none of the international agency was able to prove that 200 militants were killed. Balakot airstrike was a planned conspiracy. It was supposed to happen,” Vaghela said.
This is not the first time Vaghela has raised questions over Pulwama terror attack. On April 18 while addressing a rally in Sanand, Ahmedabad he had alleged that the Prime Minister Modi was hatching conspiracies to fulfil his personal ambitions.
“One should see the Pulwama incident and how the BJP has been using it for political mileage. This is being done in the same way as the tragic incidents in Gujarat like the Godhra train carnage, the Akshardham attacks and fake encounters", Vaghela said.
"The prime minister is targeting Pakistan only because it is a Muslim country. Let him attack China at least once", he said.
