New Delhi: The General Election 2019 is coming to an end with counting of votes on May 23 and the best and real-time way to keep a tab on the results is the Election Commission's online app Voter Helpline.

The Voter Helpline app is available for both Android and iPhone users. It has more than five million downloads since its launch. The Voter Helpline app has details of every candidate in the fray.

The app also has detailed results of 2014 and 2009 Lok Sabha polls and a General Election archive. The app was released in January 2019 with various features like submission of online forms for new voter registration and complaints.

Voter Turnout App

The EC has expanded its digital interface with voters through various mobile apps which provided every detail about the mammoth electoral exercise. One of the runaway hits during the polling has been the Voter Turnout app which gave real-time data on the number of votes polled in each Lok Sabha constituency dissected to every assembly segment.

The detailed voter turnouts used to be given at the end of the poll process, but this time, it was made available instantly through the app. The Voter Turnout app has more than 100,000 downloads.

Counting of Votes

The counting of votes all across India is likely to start at 08:00 am Thursday May 23, 2019. The trends will start coming by 08:30 to 08:45 am. The final election results however are likely to be declared by late in the evening Thursday or early morning Friday.

The process for 2019 Parliamentary election, also known as Lok Sabha Chunav, started with first Phase of polling on April 11, 2019. Polling for the 7th and last phase of 2019 general elections was held on May 12, 2019.

Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament has a total of 545 members. Of them 543 are elected while 02 members are nominated by the President of India. Polling for the 2019 elections was held for 542 seats.

Counting of Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) and Postal Ballots will be taken up first. Counting personnel will randomly select five EVMs from each Assembly segments for matching with VVPAT slips as directed by the Supreme Court.

Counting of votes will also be held for state assemblies of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Besides the ECI App, 2019 Election results will also be available on Election Commission website. ummid.com has also made arrangement for live update of election result and trends Thursday morning onwards.
