Mumbai: Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatama Gandhi, while commenting on the Ayodhya verdict pronounced by the Supreme Court of India Saturday, said Nathuram Godse will be declared "patriot" if Gandhi murder case is retried today.
“If the Gandhi Murder case was retried by the Supreme Court today, the verdict would have been Nathuram Godse is a murderer but he is also a Desh Bhakt,” Tushar Gandhi said in a tweet issued from his official account @TusharG.
Nathuram Godse, a member of Hindu Mahasabha, had murdered Mahatama Gandhi on January 30, 1948.
The Supreme Court of India on Saturday handed over to Hindus the land in Ayodhya where Babri Masjid stood till December 06, 1992 when it was demolished by Hindu extremists in the presence of top RSS, BJP, and other right-wing leaders.
The Supreme Court in its judgement delivered Saturday said the demolition of Babri Masjid was against the law.
In another set of tweets, Tushar Gandhi said, “Please all is not justice” and “Please all is politics.”
“Once the Ayodhya Judgement is read out can we please revert back to the real issues that plague our nation. Please,” Gandhi tweeted.
