Mumbai: First it was #ModiGoBack and now its Marathi version #ModiParatJa - second time in just one week, campaign slamming the Prime Minister is trending on social media site Twitter.
More than 50,000 messages have been posted so far using the hashtag #ModiParatJa - making it second most trending topic on Twitter Sunday.
Most of these messages are loaded with memes making fun of Prime Minister Modi plogging at Mamallapuram beach in Tamil Nadu.
"Two types of Garbage in photo. 1) He collected 2) We elected", Sarang Patil wrote on Twitter using the hashtag #ModiParatJa and tagging a photo of PM Modi on Mamallapuram beach with a bag full of garbage on his back.
"Like Tamilian we Marathi did it. #मोदी_परत_जा is trending now", Vijay Swami (@shyvijay) wrote also using the hashtag #GoBackModi.
"Divided by states, United by #मोदी_परत_जा", another Twitter user @Hrishi710 wrote.
#ModiParatJa campaign started trending on Twitter with the reports that Prime Minister Modi will be in Maharashtra to campaign for the BJP for the 2019 Assembly elections.
Twitter users also used the hashtag to express dissent over Modi government's policies.
"Maharashtrians want an inclusive society, measures to tackle agrarian distress, drought-relief measures, equitable distribution of water & revival of economy, among other things. They do NOT want rallies about Article 370, as can be seen from the trends #मोदी_परत_जा #GoBackModi", Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi wrote using its official Twitter handler @VBAforIndia.
Another user Unmesh Desale using handler @UDesale wrote, "First resolve economy distress, farmer distress and improve law & order, then come back. Till then #GoBackModi #मोदी_परत_जा".
Similar campaign, #ModiGoBack, trended on Twitter during PM Modi's visit in Tamil Nadu where he hosted Chinese Prime Minister for an "informal" meeting Friday and Saturday.
