Kishanganj Bihar By-election Result 2019: Qamrul Hoda of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has won the 2019 by-election from the Kishanganj assembly constituency in Bihar.

According to the final result announced by the Bihar State Election Commission, Qamrul Hoda of AIMIM got 70,469 votes and defeated his nearest rival Sweety Singh of BJP by 10,043 votes.

In the closely fought election, Swetty Singh of BJP got 60,265 votes.

Congress has fielded Sayeeda Bano from Kishanganj. She however came 3rd, bagging just 25,285 votes.

AIMIM had entered the Bihar politics first time in the 2015 state election. The AIMIM had fielded 06 candidates in 2015. However, none of them could win despite getting good votes.

The AIMIM had fielded Taseeruddin from Kishanganj in the 2015 elections. He came third with 16,440 votes. Mohammad Jawaid of the Congress was elected with 66,522 votes. Sweety Singh of the BJP was runners-up (57,913 votes).

Besides Kishanganj, the AIMIM had also contested the 2015 election in Baisi, Balrampur, Ranigunj, Kochadhaman and Amour - all in Muslim dominated Seemanchal.

The AIMIM has also performed well in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections results of which were announced today. According to the final result, the AIMIM has won 02 seats in Maharahstra - one Malegaon Center and the other Dhule City.

The AIMIM lost Aurangabad Central and Byculla Mumbai - the two seats it had won in the 2014 Maharashtra elections.
