Jennifer Grout, the 23-year-old American singer, who doesn’t speak a word of Arabic, was in late 2013 in news for showing a rare talent - singing Arabic songs, including Arabic traditional ones, fluently, softly and beautifully.

The video which is also shared by Jennifer Grout on her Facebook page has received hundreds of reactions. Some of her fans who also viewed the video on Instagram advised her to wear Hijab while she is reciting Quranic verses.

Replying the comment Jennifer Grout said, “So I know my last post sparked some discussion about the #hijab, as I knew it would.”

“Without it for a few reasons… firstly, I don’t want to mislead people about myself, as I have not personally committed myself to wearing it at this point in my spiritual journey (though yes, I am Muslim for those of you who have asked…)", she added.

She went on to add that she wanted to show people that “the Quran is accessible for anyone who wishes to explore it or listen.”

In a January 17, 2020 video posted on her Facebook page, Jennifer Grout is seen saying Asslam o Alaikum.

"Trying to speak Pashto now. The phrase I said means: “Salam to all the people of Afghanistan!” she captioned the video.
