NEET, JEE July 2020 Exams: The Education Ministry is considering to postpone National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Under Graduate (NEET UG 2020) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE 2020) owing to the continued surge in novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, a media report said.
Citing Education Ministry sources, NDTV reported that cancelling NEET and JEE is not feasible. However the ministry is considering to postpone them due to coronavirus pandemic.
NEET and JEE - important entrance exams for medical and engineering courses respectively, are rescheduled in July 2020.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), the authority responsible to conduct the exams, had earlier rejected the reports that NEET and JEE scheduled in July are postponed. Citing Education Ministry the NDTV today reported that the government is considering to postpone the two exams.
Most of the exams conducted by various state boards have already been cancelled. MHRD has also asked universities across India to promote students without exams.
The report regarding postponement of NEET and JEE came a day before SC hearing on the matter Tuesday and a strong online campaign on social media site Twitter.

Exams are supposed to evaluate students based on what they have learnt during their classes. If students haven't been able to attend the classes, especially online classes, how is examination justified ?#NoExamsInCovid— NSUI (@nsui) June 22, 2020
