UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2020: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Thursday issued an official notification regarding withdrawal of application.
According to the UPSC notification published on its official website upsc.gov.in, candidates who do not want to appear for the 2020 UPSC Prelims for Civil Services and Forest Services, can withdraw their application.
"The UPSC has provided the withdrawal facility from March 12 to March 18, 2020 to those candidates who do not want to appear for the examinations", the UPSC notification said.
"Candidates are advised to provide the details of registered application with registration-id which was completed and submitted finally", the UPSC said.
"There is no provision for withdrawing of incomplete applications", it said.
Before making the request for withdrawal, candidate must ensure the availability of registered mobile number and email-id as provided while submitting the application.
"Request will be accepted only after the confirmation by validating the OTP details sent on candidate's mobile and email, such OTP will be valid for 30 Minutes. In case the OTP is not received within 10 Minutes resend option is also available", the UPSC said.
"Request for generating OTP for withdrawal of application will be accepted only till 5.30 PM on March 18, 2020", the UPSC said.
"If Candidate has submitted more than one application form then the higher registration-id for latest completed application will be considered for withdrawal. All earlier applications will be treated as cancelled automatically and message informing withdrawal of application will be delivered on the registered mobile and email", the UPSC said.
"After the final acceptance of the request for online withdrawal of application the candidate must print the authenticated receipt. Once application is withdrawn by the candidate, it will not be revived in future", it said.
"On successful completion of withdrawal of application, an auto-generated email and sms will be sent on candidate's registered email-id and mobile respectively. In case candidate has not submitted the request for withdrawn of application he/she may contact UPSC on email-id - upscsoap@nic.in", it said.
The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020 and Indian Forest Services exam (Prelims) will be held on Sunday May 31, 2020. The UPSC had issued the exam notification on February 12, 2020. The last date to submit the exam form was March 03, 2020.
The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination is followed by UPSC Main exam. The UPSC IAS/IFS Main exam this year will be held on September 18, 2020, according to the UPSC Exam Calendar.
