New Delhi: Panic gripped India further after the elite Indian Army reported its first infection by Novel Coronavirus - the deadly virus named COVID-19 by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
According to the reports, a 34-year-old soldier from the Ladakh Scouts, an infantry regiment also known as "Snow Warriors", is said to have been inftected by Coronavirus.
"He has since been isolated", his family members said.
As many as 147 people across India have been infected by Coronavirus. India has recorded 03 deaths due to the Coronavirus. Two of the dead are woman.
The virus started from China's Wuhan region last month and has so far taken into its grips more than 145 countries including India. Thousands of people across the world reporting infection by Covid-19. As many as 8,400 people have pronounced dead all across the world because of the virus.
Meanwhile, Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu went into 14 days' self-isolation following his return from a visit to Saudi Arabia. Prabhu has tested negative but he opted for self-isloation for further precautions.
On Tuesday, reports came that as many as 250 Indians, who are stranded in Iran, are tested positive for Coronavirus. The Ministry of Foriegn Affairs has so far not commented anything on the matter.
The ministry however said that all Indians stranded in Iran are being taken care of by India's mission in Iran.
