“The media cannot erase his public popularity and service by highlighting his image as a mafia don”, he said.
“While Mukhtar Ansari spent a significant portion of his life in prison, no one disputes the punishment for crimes in accordance with the country's laws. However, any cruel treatment and killing of a prisoner contrary to the law are not permissible, and the government should not engage in such actions. The demands of justice must be met”, Maulana Madani said.
“His death under suspicious circumstances has raised many questions, which is why his natural popularity and support endure”, he added.

His grandfather Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, a revered freedom fighter and the founder of Jamia Millia Islamia University, exemplified unwavering dedication to the nation's cause.
“His maternal grandfather Brigadier Mohammad Usman, known as the 'Lion of Nowshera,' made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1948 war, upholding the honor of the nation”, he said.
Maulana Madani also acknowledged the lineage's continuation through Mukhtar Ansari's late father, Subhanullah Ansari, who upheld the tradition of service and sacrifice.
