Hajj 2024 Qurrah: The Ministry of Minority Affairs in India will conduct in coordination with Haj Committee of India, Haj Qurrah 2024 (Hajj 2024 Qurrah, Hajj 1445 H Qurrah also known as Hajj Lottery and Hajj Draw) using a centralised Random Digital Selection process today i.e. Monday January 29, 2024.

Why Hajj Qurrah is conducted?

Hajj Qurrah 2024 or Haj 1445H Draw will be conducted today to select the final list of pilgrims who wish to embark on pilgrimage to Makkah. The qurrah, also known as draw or lottery, is needed because Saudi Arabia only allows limited number of pilgrims from each country for the annual pilgrimage.

The quota of pilgrims is decided by Saudi Arabia based on the population of Muslims in the respective countries. Accordingly, India has been allotted a quota of 175,025 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.

Out of India’s total Haj quota, 20% is allotted to Hajj Tour Operators (PTOs) and Hajj Group Orgainsers (HGOs). Besides this, some seats are also reserved for Khuddam (Khadim ul Hujjaj), officers and other staff deputed to help the Indian Embassy in Jeddah.

Some seats are also reserved for female pilgrims without mehrum and those above 70 years of age. Draw of lots and qurrah is then conducted for the remaining seats to select the final list of pilgrims.

Hajj Qurrah being held for 1,40,020 seats. According to Haj Committee of India, it has received a total of 174,000 applications from different states. It means there is an excess of 34,000 applications than the allotted Haj quota of India.

The Haj Committee also said it has received 6,300 applications of those over 70 years of age and 5,000 applications of woman without Mahram. Thus, a total of 11,300 pilgrims under the two categories will be selected directly and without the draw.

The Haj Committee further said five Indian states have received applications more than their allotted quota. According to Maharashtra State Haj Committee, it has received 25,886 applications of General Category, 1,280 application of those over 70 years of age and 164 applications of woman without Mahram.

The statewise result of Qurrah being held using Random Digital Selection process will be published on the Haj Committee of India website.

Till 2022, the Haj Committees in various states of India used to conduct Hajj Qurrah in coordination with Haj Committee of India. The process was online and fully computerized.

Random Digital Selection

From 2023, the Minority Affairs Ministry, which also looks after the Hajj affairs in India, has decided to conduct centralised Random Digital Selection process and prepare the final list of Hajj pilgrims.

According to Haj Committee of India, the random selection will start at 11:00 am Monday. The process will be fully online.

The qurrah result will be published by the Haj Committee of India on its official website. Selected pilgrims will also be intimated on their registered mobile numbers.

Along with the result of the confirmed pilgrims, a waiting list of pilgrims will also be published by the Ministry and Haj Committee of India.

Those included in the Hajj 2024 Waiting List will be given chance in case a confirmed applicant fails to pay the Balance Hajj amount before the due date or cancels his or her application because of some other reasons.

2. Check on right side of the home page and look for the area similar to the one shown below

3. Click on "View All Reports" and select your state
4. Download the PDF file and check your name

Pilgrims from all states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pardesh, Odisha and others can check their status and Hajj qurrah result using the cover number.

Advance Haj Amount

The pilgrims whose names are included in the list of provisionally selected should pay Advance Haj Amount of Rs 81,000/- within one week from today and First Balance amount on or before the due date, according to the Haj Committee of India.

Pilgrims can pay Advance Haj Amount and First Balance Amount separately on two different dates or all-together in a single transaction.

Failing to pay the Haj Amount before the due date will be treated as cancellation of the Haj application, and those in the Hajj wait list will be given chance.

Hajj 2024 Flight Schedule

The Haj Committee of India (HCoI) had earlier also released Haj policy 2024 (Action Plan for Hajj 2024), listing a total of 25 embarkation points namely: Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Srinagar, Ranchi, Gaya, Guwahati, Indore, Bhopal, Mangalore, Goa, Aurangabad, Varanasi, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kannur, Vijayawada, Agartala and Calicut.

According to Hajj 2024 Action Plan, the first Hajj flight from India will be on May 05, 2024. The Last Hajj departure flight will be on June 10, 2024. Core Hajj duration will be from June 14 to 19, 2024.

First return Hajj flight from Saudi Arabia to India will be on June 20, 2024 and the last inbound and return flight will be on July 21, 2024.

The Haj Committee of India had started receiving through its website hajcommittee.gov.in from December 04, 2023 Hajj Application Form (HAF) of the pilgrims who wished to embark on Hajj 2024 (Haj 1445 AH).

The last date of application was originally fixed as December 20, 2023. It was however extended till January 15, 2024, and then till 12:00 pm on January 16, 2024 in the last minute because of technical glitches in the computer server.
