Republic Day Celebrations 2024: India on Friday January 26, 2024 celebrated the 75th Republic Day which coincides with the occasion when India adopted its constitution.

India became independent on August 15, 1947 when the Independence Day is celebrated every year in India and also by a huge number of expatriates who live in different parts of the world.

On the other hand, the Republic Day is celebrated every year on January 26 – the day when India adopted its constitution in 1950.

Accordingly, the Indians living all across the country and abroad celebrated the 75th Republic Day today on Friday. The R Day celebrations this year are led by President Droupadi Murmu.

The R Day Parade at the Kartavaya Path, earlier Rajpath and originally named as Kingsway, is the hallmark of the Republic Day Celebrations.

The R Day Parade on Republic Day is participated by the Indian Airforce, Indian Navy and Indian Army, and also by different states and ministries.

While the R Day Parade is the occasion to display with full power India’s military might the tableaus by various states are used to showcase the diverse culture of India.

One of the other important features of the Republic Day Celebrations is a Head of the State of another country of the world who grace the occasion as Chief Guest. This year French President Emmanuel Macron is the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade.

Simultaneously, the Republic Day is also celebrated at all state and district headquarters, in every city by the officials, and in schools, colleges, NGOs and offices of different organisations.
