New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a landslide victory in the Arunachal Pradesh 2024 Assembly elections winning 46 of the total 60 seats.
In Sikkim on the other hand, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) won the 31 of the total 32 seats.
The BJP had won 10 seats of the Arunachal Pradesh unopposed. Polling for the remaining 50 of the total 60 seats was held on April 19, 2024.
Counting of votes began today morning and election results were announced by afternoon Sunday.
According to the election result announced Sunday, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 46 of the total 60 seats in Arunachal Pradesh.
The National People's Party (NPP) won 05 seats whereas the Congress bagged just 01 seat.
This is the 3rd consecutive victory for the BJP in the border state.
In the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections, the BJP had won the majority with 41 seats, while the Congress had bagged just 04 seats.
Polling for the 32 member Sikkim Assembly was also held on April 19, 2024.
After the counting of votes Sunday, the ECI said SKM has won 31 seats whereas 01 seat went to Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).
In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, SKM had won 17 seats whereas SDF had bagged 15 seats.
Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim were held along with the 2024 Parliament elections.
Besides, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha also went to polls to elect new assembly. Counting of votes in the two states will be held on June 04, 2024.
The Parliament elections were held in 7 phases with polling for the final and 7th phase held on June 01, 2024.
Counting of votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were held on Tuesday June 04, 2024. The result will also be announced on the same day.
