In yet another incident showing the western media’s open bias towards Zionism, Vanity Fair France Magazine edited a photo of Hollywood star Guy Pearce to remove Palestine pin he wore at the Cannes Film Festival.
Guy Pearce, known for his strong opposition to the Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians, was sporting a pin displaying the Palestinian flag on his jacket in solidarity.
He was also wearing a wrist band in the colors of the Palestinian flag at the event.
The images of Guy Pearce showing solidarity to the beleaguered Palestinians at Cannes were viral and widely shared.
Accordingly, the Vanity Fair France Magazine used the original images showing Guy Pearce sporting a Palestine pin in its print edition.
The badge displaying the Palestinian flag on Guy Pearce’s jacket was however missing from the magazine’s website and Instagram account.
The photo-edit was first reported by journalist Ahmed Hathout.
“So Guy Pearce showed solidarity with Palestine at Cannes by wearing a pin and Vanity Fair decided to photoshop it out,” he wrote on X originally launched as Twitter.
Along with the edited photo, Hathout also posted the original images of ‘Time Machine’ and ‘Prometheus’ actor sporting Palestine pin and bracelet.
“The Australian actor also wore a bracelet in the colors of the Palestinians flag”, Hathout wrote.

Soon after the magazine’s photo edit was exposed, a number of analysts and commenters accused it of censorship. Many pointed out that Pearce is a vocal supporter of the Palestinians and has even labelled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu “a vengeful tyrant” for the IDF’s conduct in Gaza.
“Palestinians are being murdered as we speak. Displaced, traumatized, ruined,” the actor wrote on social media on Tuesday. “This MUST stop. SHAME on you Netanyahu.”
Vanity apologized for the “error” after the backlash and replaced the edited image with the original.
“We have mistakenly published a modified version of this photo on the website. The original version was published on Instagram the same day,” the publication wrote on X.
“We have rectified our mistake and we apologize”, it added.
Vanity is not the only Western media publication openly showing bias towards Zionism and endorsement of the Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians.
Two days ago, the US English daily the Atlantic in an Op-Ed piece justified the massacre and murder of the Palestinian children in Gaza.
Earlier, The New York Times had published a story, earmarked as fabricated and lacking evidence, related to fake claims of sexual assaults by Hamas and other Palestinian Resistance Fighters.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IoF) have massacred over 35,000 and wounded more than 90,000 Palestinians since Oct 7, 2023. Close to 12,000 Palestinians are missing and believed to be dead. More than 70% of those killed and missing are women and children.
Close to 50% basic structure - including hospitals, schools, colleges, universities and relief camps in the besieged Gaza Strip has been razed to ground, leaving around 1.5 million Palestinians without shelter.
