

New Delhi: Tazeen Siddique, who is pursuing her PhD, at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi has secured the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the UGC NET June 2026 exam, the result of which was announced Saturday.
Tazeen Siddique is pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Sheema Aleem, in the Department of Psychology of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Tazeen Siddique topped the UGC NET Examination in Psychology, securing AIR 1 with an exceptional 100th percentile.
Out of approximately 22,864 candidates who appeared in the examination, Tazeen emerged as the All India Rank 1, qualifying for JRF and Assistant Professor.
"It is purely Tazeen's hard work and determination that have yielded this wonderful result for her. As she has been a student of the Department, we have watched her growth with immense pride. As per the UGC NET June 2026 result announced Saturday, a total of 7.73,806 candidates had registered for the exams held for 84 subjects. Of them 6,07,151 had appeared in the exams.
A total of 4,241 candidates qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor, 45,904 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and Admission to Ph. D and 97,434 candidates qualified for Ph.D., the UGC NET June 2026 result data released by the NTA revealed.
The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC provide Research Fellowships for research under expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/ National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science and interdisciplinary areas of research.
