Islamic University of Madinah

Founded on 25-03-1381 AH in 1961, Jamia Islamiya Madina Munawwara in Saudi Arabia is considered as the most respected Islamic Educational Center for the Muslim world. Approximately 80% of the students are international students from all over the world. The university is culturally diverse and boasts almost all nationalities from across the globe. University students may study Sharia, Qur’an, Dawah and Usul al-din, Hadith and Arabic. The university offers Bachelor of Arts degrees and also Master's and Doctorate Degrees. There is also a one year diploma program that can be obtained after a student successfully graduates from the Bachelors program.

The primary aim of the Islamic University of Madinah is to pay attention to the Islamic jurisprudence and its sciences, particularly in the field of deduction and consolidation, prepare qualified scholars and savants who are well aware of the jurisprudence laws and its purposes, to give fatwa – legal opinion, and for judiciary and teaching, cerate and develop strong talents in students for the ability of deduction and academic researches, understand the purposes of the Sharia and its wisdoms in a valid and scientifically manner in accordance with the right methodology, which help the formation of dedicated callers who are ambassadors for their countries and pay attention by studying the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger -Allah's blessing and peace be upon Him-, and to purify the Islamic creed and to deepen it in peoples hearts.

In its fiftieth year of establishment, the University today has emerged as the guiding place for millions of Muslims around the globe. Coming to the expectations, the  University has always played a major role in advocating a peaceful, violence- free and prosperous world.

To create awareness against violence, extremism and terrorism, the University has started a year-long campaign following which in last few months it has organised several seminars in various parts of the world including the Indian capital New Delhi. This campaign against terrorism will end in March 2010 with a World Peace Conference in Madinah.

Malegaon: Exhibiting a fabulous personal performance, an Indian student from Malegaon bagged the Best Student of the Year Award for 2008-09 at the prestigious Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. In an equally strong academic show, he also topped his faculty.

Abdur Rehman Iqbal Ahemad attained the first position among 5000 plus students from more than hundred and fifty countries all across the world studying at Jamia Islamiya in Madinah Munawwara, the sacred town in Saudi Arabia and the resting place of Prophet Mohammad (Peace and blessings be upon him). Abdur Rehman scored a thumping 98% marks in the faculty of Dawah, informed Arshad Mukhtar - secretary of Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora, Malegaon.

Along with the astonishing academic result, Abdur Rehman also bagged the Best Student of the Year Award for 2008-09.

Jamia Islamiya Madinah Munawwara in Saudi Arabia, also known as the International Islamic University of Madinah is distinguished both by its religious location and by the fact that it represents a centre for the collection, preservation, and dissemination of Islamic heritage.. Approximately 80% of the students are international students from more than 150 countries in the world. The university is culturally diverse and boasts almost all nationalities from across the globe. The faculties at the University include Sharia, Qur’an, Dawah and Usul al-din, Hadith and Arabic. The university offers Bachelor of Arts degrees and also Master's and Doctorate Degrees. There is also a one year diploma program that can be obtained after a student successfully graduates from the Bachelors program.

Abdur Rehman is a Mansoora alumni who had qualified for the admission at the International University in Madinah after graduating from Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora in Malegaon, the Muslim dominated textile town in North Maharashtra, Arshad Mukhtar said.

Combined with Abdur Rehman's personal achievements, 17 other Mansoora alumnae who had qualified for the admission at the Islamic University in Madinah added glimmer when all of them passed the exams with distinction, he added.

Jamia Mohammdia Mansoora Malegaon is known for its reformist approach in the country and abroad. Founded in 1978, Mansoora follows a unique syllabus that combines Islamic studies with Modern education system. It has various branches in India, all following the same syllabus and teaching methodology that stand a model for the Indian Government which is trying hard for Madrasa modernisation.

Abdur Rehman's achievements become more significant owing to the fact that he attained them in his first year in the University when the students normally are naive to the strange situation in a foreign land. Seldom does it happen when a student from first year receives the Best Student Award. This is the first time an Indian student of first year has qualified for the Best Student of the Year Award.

Abdur Rehman is in Malegaon right now for the vacation. This is his first visit to the native place after the remarkable academic performance at the Islamic University of Madinah Munawwara.

Speaking exclusively to ummid.com at Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora in Malegaon where his parents reside, Abdur Rehman spoke in length about the Islamic University in Madinah, the selection criteria for the best student of the year award, the teaching methodology and policy of the Islamic University, considered as the most prestigious in the Islamic world.

Stating that the Best Student of the Year is judged during the whole year in every respect including the moral, general attitude, in campus and off campus discipline, behavior towards the teachers, staff and fellow students combined with the academic performance "Since the selection criteria for this coveted award is really tough, receiving it in first year is amazing even to me", said a beaming Abdur Rehman.

Kudos to highlight the Indian Topper from Islamic University, Medinah Munwarrah where the medium of language is Arabic and many of student from 50 countries would have native Arabs.

Otherwise, Muslim boys and girls when they succeed in Public Services Exams or entrants of CPMT/IIT/MBA are perceived a glory for Muslim community.
