Common CET for engineering courses under consideration

Vijayawada: Union Minister for Human Resources Development D Purandeswari today said that a Common Entrance Test (CET) for engineering courses across the country was under consideration.
"The Human Resources Department is consulting all the states on the issue and after receiving their views, a decision will be finalised," Purandeswari told reporters here.
The Minister said constitution of a National Educational Financial Corporation was also being considered.
The HRD is discussing the issue with nationalised banks, state governments and decision will be taken after assessing views of all stake holders, she said.
The HRD had proposed to constitute National Educational Financial Corporation to refinance the education loans to banks.
