Manmohan Singh praises 'Non-Resident Indians' in Saudi Arabia
New Delhi: Dubbing India rushing to Saudi Arabia for ''help'' to tame Pakistan as a ''dangerous slide'', the RSS has accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of being ''out of sync'' and said this would only help India's enemies ''surge, expand'' their trouble making capacity.
Reacting to the recent spat between Dr Singh and BJP Parliamentary Party Chairman L K Advani in the Lok Sabha, the RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser' in an editorial comment said Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor had only confounded the problems for the country by stating Saudi as an ''interlocutor''.
''Saudi has its own predilections and is known to be indulgent towards Pakistan,'' the journal said.
Accusing the UPA Government of inflicting the ''greatest damage'' on the country's image, the RSS mouthpiece observed that a successful foreign policy requires a single source, one clear voice speaking for the country.
''We hope we are wrong, but there is a widespread feeling that there are many masters...handling the affairs of the South Block,'' the comment said.
''India has always been insisting on bilateral handling of its affairs with Pakistan and the role of an interlocutor comes only when the two sides are not on talking terms. To hold fruitless rounds of talks in Delhi and run to Saudi is a show of desperation if not utter contradiction,'' the editorial said.
''There is no use talking to Pakistan and it is 'hara-kiri' to have intermediaries like the US and Saudi to broker peace with a country whose raison d'etre was its cunning ego, consuming jealously and boorish enmity with India,'' the paper surmised.
