Games Tennis: Somdev wins historic gold for India

Guangzhou:
Somdev Devvarman won India's maiden gold medal in men's singles
tennis by beating top-seeded Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan at the
Asian Games here Tuesday.
In the title clash at the Aoti Tennis, second seeded Somdev won
6-1, 6-2 for his second gold medal in the Asian Games.
Somdev's singles gold was the
seventh that also took India to the seventh spot in the medal's
table.
Somdev partnered Sanam Singh to win the gold medal in the men's
doubles Moday.
