New Delhi/Lucknow:
394 meritorious students belonging to Muslim minority
community were given Award for Academic Excellence in an award
distribution ceremony held at Baradari Qaisar Bagh, Lucknow.
The awards to these students were given jointly by Delhi based NGO Human Welfare Foundation (HWF)
and PM Foundation Kerala on October 24 this Sunday.
Besides, 03 schools were also
felicitated on this occasion and were given mementos and citation
for their good performance in the last three academic sessions.
The students selected for the awards
had scored more than 60% marks in Board Examination for the
academic session 2009-10. Each student was given Cash Award of Rs
1000 and Certificate of Merit and Medal.
The Award for Academic Excellence -
2010 is meant to encourage the students to continue performing
better in future.
Prof. K.A. Siddiq Hassan, General
Secretary, Human Welfare Foundation who attended the Function as
Special Guest while addressing the students and their parents,
emphasized the role of education in the development of the
country.
In the function Best Minority
educational Institution Award 2010 was given to three minority
institutions. These institutions are Faize Aam Inter College, Faizabad, Jafar Memorial Girls School, Faizabad and Iqra Public School Phoolpur, Azamgarh. They
were awarded with Mementos and
certificate.
The function was presided over by Moulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi -
Nazim Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow. Justice Nazim Zaidi of Allahbad
High court Lucknow Bunch Participated as Chief Guest.
A number of other dignitaries who
attended and delivered speeches in the program included Justice Gafoor - Chairman, PM Foundation Kerala, Ex advocate General UP SM Kazmi, Sharfuddin and CH Abdurrahim Trustee PM Foundation.
