New Delhi: US President Barack Obama is expected to address a joint sitting of both houses of parliament Nov 9, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said Wednesday.

Bansal told reporters here that the winter session of parliament is "likely to be advanced by a week" to Nov 8 and the US president would "most probably" address the joint session Nov 9.

Answering queries, Bansal said a decision on the dates of the winter session will be taken by the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs and the date for the joint sitting would be fixed by the Speaker.

The session, he said, is expected to last more than a month.

The US president is scheduled to visit India in the first half of November.
