            New Delhi: Egyptian
opposition leader Mohammed ElBaradei Friday said that there would
have been no Jasmine Revolution without the internet.

Asked whether there would have been a revolution without internet,
ElBaradei said, "No". He was answering questions after his speech at
            the India Today Conclave.

"The revolution is the brainchild of the internet," he said,
referring to how young Egyptians rallied through Facebook groups to
create an agenda for change in the country.

ElBaradei said the Egyptian army is not interested in remaining in
power beyond the six months period.

He added that the Jasmine revolution leading to overthrow of the
Hosni Mubarak regime gave back the dignity to the ordinary
            Egyptians.

ElBaradei, who got the Nobel Peace prize in 2005, said it was
important to have a new constitution and institutions to create a
stable Egypt. "We have to start with a clean slate. Either we are
going to have a clean slate or beautify the old regime," he said.
