              Kolkata: A Communist
Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader was hacked to death by
unidentified men Saturday in West Bengal's West Midnapore
              district, police said.

"Jiten Nandi, CPI-M zonal committee member from Garbeta, was
beaten up by some miscreants in the morning. When he returned
home, the miscreants again dragged him out of his house and hacked
him to death in front of the villagers," West Midnapore
Superintendent of Police Manoj Verma said.

A complaint has been lodged with the police alleging that
Trinamool supporters were involved in the crime, said Verma.
