New Delhi: Hours after being bashed up by a member of the right-wing Sri Ram Sene, senior lawyer and Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan Wednesday said such outfits should be socially boycotted and banned by the government.

"This an organisation which needs to be socially boycotted in this country and perhaps banned by the government. This Sri Ram Sene is known for its goondaism for its unprovoked assault on totally unarmed people who are totally caught off-guard," said Bhushan at a press conference at his residence in Noida, Delhi's suburban town.

"This is the trademark of what they have shown earlier in Mangalore when they beat up many young boys and girl outside some pub," he added.

Comparing the organisation's methodology with Hitler's, he said: "Their methodology is violence. This used to happen in Hitler's Germany when storm-troopers used to beat up anybody who did not agree with them."

He said that such organisations have no legal right to survive in the country.

He added: "These people should not be answered with violence. There will be legal proceedings against these people."
