E. Ahamad promises all support for AMU Malappuram

Aligarh:
Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development & External
Affairs, E. Ahamed and Kerala Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb
visited the Malappuram Centre of Aligarh Muslim University at
Perinthalmanna to evaluate the progress and assured the
Government's commitment for building the upcoming premises.
He said that construction of the
campus was progressing well and construction of building for the
campus would begin soon. He further assured that neither the Union
Government nor the Kerala Government would go back on their
commitment about the AMU Centre.
The Kerala Education Minister, P.K. Abdu Rabb also assured that
the commitment by the State Government will also be fulfilled. The
funds required will be made available soon, he announced.
Earlier, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis said that he
was hopeful about the development of the Malappuram Centre at
Chelamela, a project with potential to change the educational
future of a large number of people, particularly from the Muslim
community. Dr. P. Mohamed, Director of the AMU Malappuram Centre
welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the action taken by the AMU
till date.
E. Ahamed was accompanied by A. Ali, MLA (Perinthalmanna), T.A.
Ahmed, MLA (Mankada) and Jugal Singh, Under Secretary, MHRD. The
senior officials of CPWD explained the status of various ongoing
works.
Representing the District Administration, P. Mohandas, District
Magistrate, officials of Kerala Water Authority, State Electricity
Board were also present.
Union Minister of State for MHRD also interacted with students and
faculty members of the Centre. The AMU Centre is providing the
educational facilities to MBA and BALLB courses.
