New Delhi: Prominent
Jammu and Kashmir separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was
heckled at a seminar in north Delhi by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi
Parishad (ABVP) activists, police said Monday.
As soon as Geelani, a pro-Pakistan hardline separatist leader,
arrived at the venue in the Civil Lines area at around 4 p.m. to
attend the seminar, ABVP protesters gathered around him and
shouted slogans and chanted 'Vande Matram', demanding that he
leave the venue.
Geelani had arrived for the seminar organised by the Centre for
the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS).
"Geelani was saved from any physical attack as the police escorted
him inside the venue," said a senior police official.
