Khalifa issues law about Abu Dhabi logo

Sunday March 03, 2013 12:27:43 PM, WAM

Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) president and ruler of Abu Dhabi, has amended a law regarding the emblem of the Abu Dhabi emirate.

According to the law, this emblem will take the shape of a falcon which will have two crossing daggers under it. It will have, on each side, a white-red flag with a rectangle banner carrying the name Abu Dhabi. Three domes top the emblem. The law says that the emblem may have a red or silver or black frame.

A prominent artist was selected to envisage the prototype design of the falcon, inspired by a valuable collection of daggers belonged to the Al Nahyan family.

The Secretariat General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council is currently supervising the design, development and use of the emblem to reflect the cultural legacy and value and historical importance of the emirate.
