Rio de Janeiro: FIFA said that results of an investigation in to Qatar's choice as the 2022 World Cup host could be revealed within weeks.
The oil-rich Arab country has been accused of buying votes from FIFA's executive committee to secure the tournament's hosting rights ahead of rival bidders like Australia and the United States, reports Xinhua.
FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke urged the Swiss-based body's chief investigator Michael Garcia to hasten the probe.
"The report should come now. We should have a final position and the best would be even before the 2014 World Cup and then just work on the next World Cup," Valcke said.
