Mumbai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Thursday announced the latest schedule for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). As per the CTET website, the exam will be held across the country on February 22, 2015.
The last date for application is January 8, 2015 and the last date for payment of the fees is January 10.
Candidates can apply online for the exam (Paper-I and Paper-II) following the link: http://ctet.nic.in/ctetapp/welcome.aspx
Candidates who wish to be a teacher for classes I to V will have to appear for Paper I and the candidates who wish to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII will have to appear for Paper II.
The exam paper will have objective type, multiple choice questions. For every correct answer, the candidates will get one mark, though no negative marking will be applicable for any wrong answer.
General candidates will have to pay Rs 600 to appear in either of the exam. The combined fees of both the exams has been pegged at Rs 1000. For reserved category, the fees is Rs 300 and Rs 500 respectively.
Applications can be submitted only online whereas fees can be paid online using debit or credit card and offline via challan to be deposited with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.
Admit Cards for the exam will be available on CTET website on February 2, 2015.
As per the CBSE website, CTET is a mandatory qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools.
