Ummid.com has learnt from its sources at the AAP Maharashtra headquarter in Mumbai that Ansari Nihal Ahmed's candidature from Dhule-Malegaon Lok Sabha constituency has been almost done and his name is certain to figure in the fourth list of AAP candidates to be released in next few days.

Ansari Nihal Ahmed is Chairman of Jadeed Anjuman-e-Taleem, an NGO established in 1962 which runs a series of institutions in Malegaon and neighbouring towns. The institutions having more than 12,000 girl-students also have few units for boys too.

Aleem Faizee, chairman of Noble Education & Welfare Society (NEWS) and founder secretary of Malegaon Industries & Manufacturers Association (MIMA) said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Maharashtra leaders notably Mayank Gandhi, Pratibha Shinde, Feroz Mithiborewala, Salim Alware and Shanul Hasan contacted him with a request to assist them for selecting good candidates for Malegaon and Akola.

Consequently, Aleem Faizee held a series of meetings with his colleagues and people in the constituency. After discussing quiet a few name, it was finally decided to recommend the name of Ansari Nihal Ahmed to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

"Besides a man with clean and secular records, Ansari Nihal Ahmed has a very good track record in the field of education. His contributions on key posts at various other organisations working for the empowerment of weavers and the weaker sections of the society are also remarkable", Aleem Faizee said while talking to ummid.com.

Ansari Nihal Ahmed has also worked in the Municipal Corporation for thirty years. Fed up with the issues in the system, he took voluntary retirement in 2008.

Ansari Nihal Ahmed's candidature on the AAP ticket has sent a pleasant surprise in the constituency.

"Though Nihal Ahmed Ansari always had a chance due to his father's strong background, he has never been in active politics. His candidature on the AAP ticket for the coming Lok Sabha election, though surprising, is a timely step and he has a good chance to win", said Dr. Riyaz Ansari, a local physician.

Altaf Ameen also had the similar views. "People are now fed up with BJP and Congress. AAP has given them a very good alternate in Nihal Ahmed", he said.

Meanwhile, hectic activities are seen in JAT Campus ever since it is conveyed to Nihal Ahmed Ansari that his candidature is final. Besides people from different walks of life who were seen visiting him, the directors of Malegaon Industries & Manufacturers Association (MIMA), Malegaon Co-Operative Spinning Mills and Janata Co-Operative Bank, Noble Education & Welfare Society (NEWS), Raza Academy of Malegaon, Powerloom Association of Malegaon and others also came to extend their support.

Dhule and Malegaon parliamentary constituencies have always been reserved for SCs/STs and was de-reserved only in 2008 just before the 2009 general election.

The seat is currently held by Prataprao Sonawane of BJP. He won the 2009 elections defeating Amrishbhai Patel of Congress. Amrishbhai Patel is seeking ticket from the Congress party to try his luck once again.

The BJP has already announced Dr. Subhash Bhamre as its candidate.

The constituency is set to witness a four-cornered contest as Advay Hiray, who was demanding ticket from BJP, has hinted to contest the polls as an independent.

Interestingly, it is also learnt that his elder brother Apoorva Hiray, an MLC, has also met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and requested him the party ticket from Dhule-Malegaon Lok Sabha seat.
