SSC Repeaters Exam 2016

Mumbai:
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has so far not announced any specific date to declare the results of the SSC (Class 10 or Class X) Supplementary or Repeaters Exam held in July 2016.

As the Special Round 3 for admission to First Year Junior College (FYJC) began today, the students were hopeful that the SSC (Class 10 or Class X) Supplementary or Repeaters Exam results 2016 would be declared by today.

But, they woke up today morning having absolutely no knowledge of when actually the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will declare the results of the SSC (Class 10 or Class X) Supplementary or Repeaters Exam held in July, 2016.

The students are anxious and uneasy also because the Special Round 3 for admission to First Year Junior College (FYJC) has already commenced from today and in the absence of their results they cannot participate in the admission process.

"The last date for online application for First Year Junior College (FYJC) Special Round 3 is tomorrow i.e. August 30. How can the students fill up the form if their results are not declared", Jawwad Ahmed, parent of a student, moaned.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) was earlier conducting the Supplementary or Repeaters Exam in the month of October. In a significant decision however the present government rescheduled them to October to save what it called one year of the students who failed in the regular exams.

"The education department is running the Special Round 1,2 and 3 besides others for the students who will pass the July 2016 Supplementary exams. But, the Special Round 3 ends tomorrow and there is no way students who pass the Supplementary exam participate in the admission process even if the results are declared tomorrow", Yaseen Ansari, a teacher, said.

"We are wondering if the board has decided to run additional rounds for the students who appeared and passed in the July 2016 Supplementary exams?" he added.

The Maharashtra board conducts examination twice a year and the number of students appearing for the main examination is around 14 Lacs for HSC and 17 Lac’s SSC, for the supplementary examination around 6 Lacs students are expected HSC and SSC together. There are about 21000 schools (SSC) and 7000 (HSC) Higher Sec. Schools / Jr. colleges in the entire state.

The board runs the SSC and HSC exams through its nine Divisional Boards, which are primarily located at Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur, Nagpur, Amravati and Ratnagiri. The office of the board at present is in Pune.

Interestingly, the board declared the results of the HSC (Class 12 or Class XII) Supplementary exams on August 24, 2016 2-3 days after the admission process for colleges ended. Hence, the student who passed the HSC Supplementary / Repeaters exams are now in a dilemma where to go.

Meanwhile, the education department will release the Merit List of the Special Round 3 for admission to First Year Junior College (FYJC) on August 31, 2016 at 05:00 pm. Before that the students need to submit online the needed form through the official website.
