Sattari Taluka, Goa - A perfect destination for nature lovers

SattariSattari (Goa): Goa is commonly famous all over the world for three B’s – Beach, Bottle and Babe. Goan beaches Vagatur, Calangut, Colva, Donapoula and others attract tourists of all classes and age groups. Lakhs of tourist visit Goa beaches every year, majority of them foreigners.

Apart from this, Goa also has some incredible rainy season spots which are really ideal places for hinterland or adventure tourism, and with the help of social media these once unnoticed places are becoming famous slowly in Goa and other states.

Sattari is one the important Taluka of Goa which is surrounded by dense forest of Sahyadri Parvat Mala and Chorla Ghat and it is famous for rainfall. In dense forest, it has so many beautiful waterfalls, jungles and natural scenes which have become the attraction of tourists these days.

Hundreds of tourists from all over Goa and other places are visiting these waterfalls every day. On Saturdays and Sundays, roads of state headquarter Valpoi town are found very busy.

Just 10 km away from Valpoi town near Hivre village one can find ‘Hivre waterfall’ which is located in the dense forest of Choral Ghat. Here day-tripper find no clear way or footpath to catch the spot. Sometimes he or she has to mount rocks, big stones and cross trees. It takes about two hours trekking.

On the same road, two more waterfalls can easily be located. It needs 3, 4 km trekking to reach these points. An incredible pieces of nature work, on the way to waterfall here one can experience the marvelous architecture work of the Almighty, greenery, big stones, natural canals add much sugar in the beauty.

As soon one reaches the spot, the incredible scene and bath in the metallic pure and natural water of waterfall take hold of trekker’s tiredness. A very suitable spots to visit along with family, the point is wonderful and exciting experience of adventure and hinterland tourism.

Swaleha Kousar, a Valpoi resident, expressed that scenic beauty of Sattari Taluka is really incomparable.

“Whenever we go for outing to these places, the entire family enjoys in the cool and fresh water”, she said.

Sarfaraz Syed, a member of Valpoi Municipal Council, said nudity on beaches has brought bad name to Goa but these rainy season spots of Sattari Taluka are the other side of the coin.

“One cannot find nudity or any criminal activity here. They are safer and very suitable to plan family outing”, he said.
