The Maharashtra board has already announced Class 12 HSC results on May 25, 2016. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced Class 12 results on May 21 and Class 10 results on May 27.
It was speculated after Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani stated that all board results this year would be announced before May 31 that the Maharashtra SSC Class 10 results 2016 will also be declared before May 31.
States like Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura and Jharkhand have also declared their results. Some states which are yet to announce results have announced that they will declare the results before May 31.
"We fail to understand why the Maharashtra board takes so much time to declare the results. States like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh where number of students appearing for exams are far more than Mahasrashtra. Yet they are able to declare their results much before", Prakash Shah, a parent, said while talking to ummid.com.
"After Union HRD Minister's statement we hoped that like CBSE and other states, Maharashtra too will declare Class 10 results before May 31. But, we are disappointed because so far the board has maintained total silence on the exact date and time of result announcement", he added.
During an hour-long interaction with students on social networking site Facebook on May 17, Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani had said at a meeting headed by Secretary, School Education, HRD Ministry with all state boards held in October 2015 "a decision was taken that all results across the country will surely be declared by May 31".
