New Delhi: The Online Application for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018 has started from today i.e. Friday December 01. Students seeking admission in various engineering courses should apply before January 01, 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018, mandatory for admission to engineering colleges and eligibility test for JEE Advanced, will be held on Sunday April 08, 2018 (offline mode).
The JEE Main 2018 Online exam will be held on April 15 and 16, 2018.

by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc", the CBSE said in a statement.
"The States of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland & Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State level examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2018 application form online", the CBSE added.
"The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad.
"The candidates are advised to see the JEE (Advanced) website www.jeeadv.ac.in for information related to JEE (Advanced)", the CBSE said.
The JEE Main 2018 will be held in pen and paper as well as online mode.

Eligibility criteria
Date of birth: The candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.
A candidate applying for JEE Main 2018 should be Intermediate or Class 12 pass from a recognised board and must have appeared and qualified in Class 12th examination in 2016 or 2017 or should appear in the Class 12 examination in 2018.

JEE Main 018 will be conducted in major cities and towns of India as well as abroad. The complete list of 258 JEE Main 2018 Exam Centres can be found via JEE Main Information Bulletin. The list includes all major cities in India and also selected locations in countries like Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE. Singapore, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Number of attempts
The number of attempts for JEE (Main) is limited to three.
Selection procedure for admission to IIT
Only top 224,000 - including all categories, in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2018 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2018.
Admit Card and JEE Main 2018 Result
Jee Main 2018 Admit Card will be released in the second week of March and JEE Main 2018 Result will be declared on April 30, according to JEE Main Information Bulletin.
The likely date for the release of the Jee Main 018 Answer Keys and OMR Sheet is April 4, 018.
