Mumbai: Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra, Anand Mahindra while condemning the gruesome killing of Mohammed Afrazul in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand, also slammed the way media played the video of the incident.
"Turning cold-blooded murder into a televised drama shows a diseased mind of unimaginable magnitude. If we are to lay any claim to being a civilised society, then justice for this act must be delivered decisively & swiftly", Anand Mahindra said in a message posted on his Twitter account.

"I’m sorry, I disagree. I first turned my eyes away from the video and was about to scroll away from it. And then I realised that by not acknowledging the reality of the video, I would share the collective guilt of a society that does not battle its own demons", Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra said in another post.

Anand Mahindra's post came in response to the brutal murder of Mohammed Afrazul (48). Afrazul was hacked and burnt to death in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district.
In the video of the killing shared on social media, the accused, Shambhu Lal, is seen declaring he killed the man to save a woman from "love jihad" and warning that anyone challenging the majority community would "meet the same fate".
Shambhu Lal had allegedly brought the man to a secluded place on the pretext of providing him work.
As it could be seen in the video, he attacked the man from behind while continuously warning him against the practice of love jihad.
Rajasthan was recently in the news for lynching of Muslim farmers in the name of "cow smuggling".
Earlier in the day, the Communist Party of India (CPI) condemned the killing of the Muslim labourer, alleging such crimes against minorities are a result of hate propaganda pursued by Hindutva groups in BJP-ruled states.
The CPI alleged the "accusation of love jihad was only a pretext to kill" the Muslim man.
