Mumbai: In a horrifying video posted on Instagram, Zaira Waseem, an icon for girls worldwide, shared how a fellow traveler taking advantage of dim light tried to molest her dignity on a flight.
In the vide posted on Instagram a sobbing and crying Zaira alleged that a middle-aged man sitting behind her on her Delhi-Mumbai Vistara flight tried to molest her, rubbing his foot against her back and neck while she was half asleep.
"It was all chill till I felt somebody brushing against my back while I was half asleep. Guess he couldn't sit like a civilized human being and placed his feet on my arm rest while he's fully PHELOAOED (spread) his body on his seat," the 17-year-old Zaira said in the video.
The actor said she tried to click a photo of the man, but couldn't get a clear shot due to dim lights.
"Managed to get this (shot of the molester's foot). The lights were dimmed so it was even worse. It continued for another 5-10 minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck," she posted.
"Who is going to help us Girls? If we don't help ourselves, nobody will come ahead", Zaira ends her video as saying.
Meanwhile, Air Vistara in a message posted on Twitter said it is carrying out a detailed investigation into the case.
"We @airvistara have seen the reports regarding @ZairaWasimmm experience with another customer on board last night. We are carrying out detailed investigation and will support Zaira in every way required. We have zero tolerance for such behavior," the airline tweeted.
Zaira Waseem came to the fame after her debut in Aamir Khan starrer super hit Bollywood film Dangal – a screenplay based on empowerment of girls. The film received acclaimed worldwide, including China. Zaira also worked in Secret Superstar a recent Aamir Khan production.
