Lucknow:
Asserting that the two are known supporters of Ram temple movement, the Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) on Sunday said an out-of-court settlement of the Ayodhya dispute was not possible with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath at the helm of affairs.

"With Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath at the helm of affairs, there is no hope that justice will prevail with the Muslims. Both of them have been BJP workers and supporters of Ram temple movement," BMAC Convenor Zafaryab Jilani said after a meeting of its office bearers in Lucknow.

Earlier the prime ministers used to be "neutral" on the contentious issue, he said, according to PTI.

Jilani said the solution to the Babri Masjid title suit can be arrived only through the Supreme Court.

The BMAC meeting was held days after the Supreme Court of India proposed to find out-of-court settlement of the Babri Masjid - Ram temple dispute, also urging the parties involved in the case to sit together and arrive at consensus.

Supreme Court's offer had received a mixed response. While the BJP ministers and leaders, and also some Muslim leader welcome the SC advice, there are others including Ram Lalla who disagreed and called for the speed trial and judgement by the court.

The 17th century Babri Masjid was levelled to ground by Hindutva extremists who were led by the BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders on December 06, 1992.

The Supreme Court on March 06 indicated that LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and other BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders may face trial in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The court also came up with the option of ordering a joint trial of cases arising out of the two FIRs lodged in the wake of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

Interestingly, why the debate on SC proposal was still on, controversial BJP leader and the party's member in Rajya Sabha virtually threatened Muslims and said they should accept his proposal.

“Muslim should accept my proposal for a masjid across Saryu. Or else in 2018 on getting the RS majority we will enact a law to build temple", Subramanian Swamy posted on social media site Twitter.
