Lukcnow: Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) postponed the multiple recruitment examinations that were scheduled to commence from today i.e. Thursday, September 7 in the last minute. The UPPCL cited flood as the reason behind the sudden decision, and said a new date will be announced soon.
The UPPCL written examinations were to be held from September 7 to 12 for the recruitment of Office Assistant, Assistant Review Officer, Assistant Private Secretary and Stenographer Grade 3 posts. But, the UPPCL in a notice posted on its website on September 05 announced postponement of the exam.
"The examinations for the posts of Office Assistant, Stenographer- III, Assistant Private Secretary, and Assistant Review Officer are being postponed due to floods as well as climatic force conditions in the state", the notice signed by the Secretary, ESC, UPPCL said.
"The next date for the exam shall be announced subsequently", the notice said.
Messages announcing postponement of the UPPCL exams were also sent via SMS on applicants' cell phones.
UPPCL had issued a notification on July 20, 2017 to recruit 2,757 Stenographers and Office Assistants.
In other notification, UPPCL notified recruitment for Assistant Review Officer and Private Secretary posts. The number of posts for Asst. Review Officer is 66, 13 for Additional Private Secretary, and 06 for Additional Private Secretary (Dept).
The written exam will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed in two parts.
Part 1 will be based on Computer Knowledge carrying 50 questions.
Part 2 will carry 150 questions on the subjects such as General Studies & reasoning, General Hindi, General English.
Office Assistant (Accounts) will have subjects such as Arithmetic (25 questions), General Hindi & English (50 questions) and Accountancy & General Book Keeping (75 questions). Each question will carry 1 mark.
There will be a negative marking and 1/4 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in both parts. The applicants need to attain at least 50% marks in Part-1. If the applicants do not qualify in part 1, no further evaluation will be done.
The selection process will be based on written exam and Typing Skill Test.
