New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) rejected the news circulating on social media saying the 75 percent attendance rule has been scrapped as fake, null and misleading.
The AICTE also said it has lodged a complained with the Delhi Cyber Crime Cell.
"The circular is misleading and mischievous. We would like to confirm that AICTE has not issued any circular in this regard", the AICTE said in an official statement released recently.
"AICTE is lodging a complaint against the Fake Circular in the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police", AICTE added.
"You are therefore requested to ignore the aforesaid circular if it comes to your notice and inform your faculty and students accordingly", it said.
The fake AICTE circular cited various reason to claim that the 75 percent attendance rule has been scrapped.
“Considering the growing unemployment of engineering graduates, which has become a serious issue, and according to data from national sample survey office, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and AICTE carried out in 2017, about 57.43% of engineering students from various technical institutions are unemployed", the fake circular read.
"Considering this, AICTE has decided to scrap the 75 per cent mandatory attendance and introduce vocational projects", it said.
The students should however now make a note that the above circualr is fake and misleading.
