Hajj 2020: The Haj Committee of India Tuesday extended the last date of online application for Hajj 2020 for a third time.
According to the extended deadline, the last date to apply for Haj 2020 was December 17. The Haj Committee of India however has extended it upto December 23, 2020.
"In view of the representations received from various quarters, the last date for submission of Haj Application Forms by the intending pilgrims is extended up to 23rd December, 2019", the Haj Committee of India said in an official notification.
"Consequently, applicants possessing of machine readable valid Indian International passports issued on or before December 23, 2019 and valid up to 20th January, 2021 will be eligible to apply for Haj - 2020", it said.
"For those pilgrims having machie readable valid International Passports issued on or before 23rd December, 2019, and are not able to apply till the last date (December 23) due to technical or other difficulties, can submit their details in the specimen form to the respective State Haj Committees and obtain receipts", the Haj Committee of India said.
"Applications submitted thus will be treated as valid and submitted within time", it said.
Originally, the last date of application for Haj 2020 was fixed as November 10, 2019. It was however first extended till December 05, and for the second time till December 17, 2019. The latest extension is upto December 23, 2019.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs has from this year made the Haj application process fully online.
Though the Haj Committee of India has not said anything about the frequent extensions but there are reports that applicants are facing difficulties in using Haj App and in filling online Haj application forms.
According to Haj Committee of India, till last week pilgrims far less than the allotted quota had applied for Haj - the annual pilgrimage to Makkah.
Pilgrims should note that they can read Haj Application Guidelines along with specimen copy of Haj 2020 Application Form before applying for Hajj 2020.
The Haj Committee of India the PDf copy of Haj Pay-in Slip (State Bank of India and Union Bank of India.) The Haj Application fee Rs.300/- can also be paid Online or through banks using these pay-in slips.
A total of 200,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj - the holy journey to Makkah, from India. Part of this number go to Hajj through Private Tour Operators and rest go through Haj Committee of India.
According to Haj 2020 Action Plan, the Haj Committee of India will conduct the Qurrah or Draw of Lots in the last week of December, 2019. The Qurrah will be fully computerised and will be held at respective State Haj Committee headquarters.
Haj 2020 applicants should note that the last date to submit Advance Haj amount by the selected pilgrims is the last week of December 2019. Last date of submission of PP/Pay-in-Slip of Advance Haj amount/medical certidicate is January 31, 2020.
