RSS Bomb Kerala Police Station

Thiruvananthapuram: Video clips obtained from CCTV recordings showed a RSS worker throwing bombs at Nedumangad police in Thiruvananthapuram.

The incident took place during the protest organised against women's entry into Sabarimala temple. At least 5 people were injured in the bomb attack, local media reported.

Local police identified the person as Praveen - an RSS worker from Nooranad in Alappuzha. Police said that he had gone into hiding after the incident took place, and has not been arrested yet.

During the state-wide hartal called by the Sabarimala Karma Samithi on Thursday, bombs were thrown at the Nedumangad police station. In the CCTV footage, Praveen is seen hurling bombs at a group of policemen. In the video, Praveen can be seen taking aim at the station and throwing multiple bombs he was carrying in a bag, according to the News Minute.

The bandh was called to protest against the entry of two women in Sabarimala temple on Wednesday morning, and to mark the death of Sabarimala Karma Samithi worker Chandran Unnithan. Chandran died in a stone-pelting incident in Pandalam, which took place over the women’s temple entry issue.

Over 1,300 cases were registered by the Kerala police in hartal-related violence all over the state, and over 3,187 people have been arrested so far, according to Kalinga TV.
