Mumbai: Leading manufacturers are set to launch a series of smartphones that are 5G enabled and are equipped with a number of new features at Mobile World Congress (MWL) 2019. The annual event is set to be held between February 25 to 28, 2019 in Barcelona.
Top in the line is LG which has confirmed that it would launch its first ever 5G smartphone with Qualcomm's fastest chipset, Snapdragon 855, ahead of the mobile mega fest.
"Snapdragon 855 is 45 per cent faster than its predecessor and it would enable users to access internet at 5G speeds while allowing them to play high-resolution games or use multiple apps simultaenously", LG said.
In addition to faster processor, LG's 5G smartphone comes with 4,000mAh battery, which the company says will have 20 per cent more backup time than the LG V40 ThinQ.
LG's 5G smartphone also comes with a 'vapor chamber' which is 2.7 times bigger than the LG V40 ThinQ. The bigger surface area of the vapor chamber reduces the temperature fluctuations inside the phone, the compnay said.
Another 5G-enabled phone which is likely to be showcased at MWC 2019 is Vivo Apex 2019. Vivo had earlier unveiled its Apex 2019 concept phone after teasing. The phone has no ports, no physical buttons, and also, no selfie camera. But, the biggest focus is its radical design that looks to set the trend for the year ahead.
The Vivo Apex 2019 sports an all-display design without a notch or a punch-hole and packs a dual camera setup at the back, and connecting pins at the rear end for charging and transferring of data. Vivo Apex 2019 introduction follows the Meizu Zero announcement, which too has no physical buttons or ports. Vivo Apex 2019 is codenamed 'Waterdrop’ and applies the same strategy as Meizu Zero.
The Vivo APEX 2019 can be charged using the rear-mounted magnetic connector -- which Vivo calls MagPort -- that also helps in data transferring.
