Mumbai: A video viral on Social Media shows Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's brother mingling and extending his support to the anti-CAA/NRC protesters at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh.

The video was first shared by Shaheda Hussain Siddiqui on Facebook and soon went viral on different social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Telegram.

A fact check however later revealed that the man in Saffron and looking like UP Chief Minister Adityanath is not his brother but Suresh Thakur, according to AajTak.

Suresh Thakur is a former government employee and was suspended from service because of changes in the rules.

Talking to the TV channel Suresh Thakur said he had visited Shaheen Bagh on Monday.

The visit to Shaheen Bagh of Suresh Thakur, a look alike of Yogi Adityanath, went viral on the Social Media also because the BJP had used Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA/NRC protest to polarise voters in its favour before polling in Delhi.

Adityanath himself addressed a couple of rallies in Delhi for the BJP candidates. In each of his rallies, he targetted those protesting at Shaheen Bagh and also used it to criticise the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP.

Whether BJP's strategy to use Shaheen Bagh as a poll issue is successful or not will become clear on Tuesday February 11, 2020 when the votes stored in the EVM will be counted.

As of now, almost all Exit Polls conducted by various agencies and TV channels have shown AAP sweeping the Delhi 2020 elections.
