Lucknow: A Manager of a Private Inter College of Uttar Pradesh is seen in a viral video giving students tips to cheat in the Uttar Pradesh Class 12 board exams which began on Tuesday.

Praveen Mall, Manager of Harivansh Memorial Inter College who is also a corporator from Madhuban of Mau, while addressing the fareweel gathering of the college on February 07 purportedly "shared" with the students the "tips" to cheat in the exam.

In the video shared by a news agency, Mall also seen "advising" the students to keep Rs 100 currency notes in the answer book to pass the board exam.

"..... Do not leave any question unattempted. Attempt the questions and keep Rs 100 in the answer sheet. The examiner will give you marks without even looking. No one actually checks what you have written", Praveen Mall is heard as saying.

"Speaking is not considered cheating. Discuss the questions among yourselves and write the answers", Praveen is seen telling the students in the video.

"Do not fear. However, do not keep a chit and just talk to each other. Maintain discipline. And if someone finds a chit and slaps you, tolerate it and ask the person to slap you one once more and let you go. If you stand up and resist, the teacher will cause problems for the whole college,” he went on.

Over 56 lakh candidates are appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board class 10, and 12 examinations 2020 which began on Tuesday.

Almost 30 lakh class 10 students will be taking the elementary Hindi and 26 lakh class 12 students are appearing for general Hindi exam on the first day.

According to deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma who also holds the education portfolio, the examinations are being held at 7,784 centres across the state.

The state government has set up a state-level 'monitoring and control room' for CCTV surveillance and to monitor voice recordings to check cheating in the esams.

Mall later on denied the allegations and said he was actually asking the students to refrain from cheating in the exam.
